Stud Conditions

MARES. 
Whilst at Trefddyn stud your mares will receive every possible care, attention and supervision, but no responsibility or liability can be taken for any accident, damage, injury, illness, disease or loss to any horse or person. 

Trefddyn stud reserves the right to consult a veterinary surgeon in the event of an emergency , accident or illness, at the owners expense without notification to the owner. All mares are served at their owners risk and no responsibility can be accepted for injury, damage or loss caused through trying to service any mare, any problem mares will be twitched or sedated. We advise that broodmares are insured by owners and cover altered to allow for your mare visiting stallions at our stud.

KEEP OF MARES.
Visiting mares will have the benefit of stabling as required. The Stud has the right to feed or stable any horse as they consider most beneficial to the care of the horse and / or foal and the owners will be charged accordingly £50 weekly.

We insist on stabling for difficult to catch mares.

SHOES. All mares are to have all rear shoes removed.

WORMING. All mares must be wormed 1 week before arrival at the Stud.

STUD FEES: A deposit of £100 (usually done at time of booking) must be left with mare at the Stud when she arrives along with her passport. A stud contract will also need to be signed if not already done (usually done at time of booking).The Balance of Stud fees are due at time of service, but may be paid together with keep fees on collection of mare or on a monthly basis. Visiting mares and / or foals may not be removed until all fees have been paid. In the event of the stud giving notice for removal of any horse and that horse is not removed, or fees are not paid, then the Stud shall be entitled to sell the horse/s and out of the proceeds of sale defray the costs of the fees and for the period between the giving of notice and the sale, and the owner hereby appoints the Stud its agents for the purpose of the sale.

STUD TERMS: The stud fee entitles your mare to covering over one season with a free return for a further two seasons (3 attempts if you like). These can either be done in the same year or roll over to the next should the time be getting late in the season.

COVER CERTIFICATES:
Are posted out September / October of the year of covering so it is imperative we know if your mare is pregnant and requires a certificate, should she have left prior to scanning at the stud.
Once a cover certificate is done it will prevent your entitlement to any further free returns.( unless a foal is born dead)
